These images were taken with slide film. It was 1997 and at the age of 27; I got married, quit my job and went backpacking through South East Asia. We travelled for 8 months. It was a dream come true. With my purple backpack and my camera around my neck; I explored different cultures and met people from around the world. These are memories that I return to often.

That trip blossomed my love for photography. I carried canisters of film around like it was currency. I had colour film, black and white film and slide film. I took pictures through Bali, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Loas and back to Thailand. When I look back at those images, something inside of me stirs. Nostalgia is a great place to visit.

The images that you see are scanned images of old slides from that trip. They are slide film, that were scanned and formatted to jpg. I edited them in Lightroom for fun. I like the results.
